Chair of Circular Economy and Sustainability Assessment
Prof. Dr. Magnus Fröhling
The Chair of Circular Economy and Sustainability Assessment focuses on the holistic ecological, economic and social assessment of complex economic systems and supports the transition towards a sustainable economy and society.
The chair focuses on the circular economy and bioeconomy, key concepts for achieving global sustainability goals such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement. With our work, we want to help shape the transition towards sustainable industrial and economic systems and thus contribute to achieving these goals. To reach these goals, our research develops interdisciplinary approaches to analyze, evaluate and design technologies, products and systems. In teaching, we aim to train decision-makers in research, business and politics with the necessary methodological and technical skills for the transition to a sustainable economy and society.
