Recent PtX activities at the Laboratory for Chemical Process Engineering (CTV)

TUM.PtX News |

The project NAMOSYN was successfully completed in September 2022 with the demonstration of the industrial maturity of the OME synthesis process. The project SynergyFuels to develop an integrated refinery concept for the production of renewable fuels from biogenic residues started in January 2023.

The activities of the CTV within the framework of the NAMOSYN project were successfully completed in September 2022 with the demonstration of the industrial maturity of the synthesis process for the production of the synthetic fuel OME from methanol and formaldehyde. The purchased demonstration plant on a pilot plant scale, an interconnection of several process modules, could be operated permanently in the network for the first time.

In January 2023, the joint project SynergyFuels, funded by the Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe e.V., started. In this, an integrated refinery concept for the production of renewable fuels is to be developed and demonstrated on a pilot plant scale, which combines thermochemical, electrochemical and biotechnological processes. The use of biogenic residues is combined with both Power-to-X processes and carbon capture/storage. The CTV is active as project coordinator and in process development and demonstration.
