Visit of the Archimedes student group from Ålesund at TUM: Insights into hydrogen and PtX research

On April 8, the Chair of Energy Systems at the Technical University of Munich had the pleasure of welcoming the Archimedes student group from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. The visit aimed to provide insights into current research activities in hydrogen and Power-to-X technologies while fostering international exchange.
Following an introductory presentation on hydrogen research at the chair, the students were given a guided tour of the research facilities. This included test rigs for SOEC stacks and single cells, as well as the CCU and PtMeOH plant. A particular highlight was the membrane reactor test bench for sustainable methanol synthesis, showcasing innovative approaches to improving efficiency and process integration.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity for technical exchange and discussions on current challenges and solutions in sustainable energy systems.
