Members of the Institute of Plant and Process Engineering (APT) took part in the Annual Meeting of Process Engineering and Materials Technology (PEMT, formerly PAAT) in Frankfurt am Main. In addition to a large number of presentations on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of process engineering, the colleagues presented the latest findings from process modeling and simulation. In his presentation "Dynamic and control of load-flexible Haber-Bosch plants", Steffen Fahr showed how load flexibilization of ammonia plants can be achieved through intelligent control. In his presentation "Modeling of a Cooled Shift Reactor for the Production of Hydrogen from Biogas", Edwin Hirtreiter presented a dynamic model of a shift reactor, which was validated with operating data in a pilot plant.
