Chair of Electrical Energy Storage Technology, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Jossen
This partner focuses on the integration of stationary energy storage in power supply systems. Topics range from grid connection topology and optimisation of operation and control strategies to economic and environmental considerations for different application scenarios.
Institute of Automotive Technology, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus Lienkamp
The chair investigates the use of lithium-ion batteries against the background of the special operating conditions in automotive applications. The aim is a holistic design of battery systems taking into account the characteristics (e.g. parameter scatter in parallel circuits), later requirements (e.g. fast charging) and special environmental conditions (e.g. cold and hot countries) on the operating conditions and life of the battery system. Relevant effects and influences at cell, module and system level including feedback to the whole vehicle are considered.
Chair of Digital Catalysis, Prof. Dr. Helge Stein
We develop software for horizontal and vertical integration i.e. we aim to translate from the lowest level of hardware actions to high level experiment descriptions not just in our lab but also to others. This entails also the integration of ab-initio methods into our workflows. We have demonstrated autonomous workflows with up to seven participating universities that run for several weeks without human interference. With multiple partners we orchestrate research between our and other laboratories.
