Chair of Electrical Energy Storage Technology, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Jossen
Systems Engineering & Battery Management Systems (BMS) focuses on the electrical, thermal and mechanical issues that need to be addressed in the development and operation of a battery system. Topics covered range from BMS topologies and optimising battery climate control to optimising safety and ageing of multi-cell systems.
Chair of Automotive Technology, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus Lienkamp
In the field of systems engineering and battery management, we focus intensively on analyzing fast-charging strategies at both thermal and electrical levels within battery systems to ensure performance, safety, and longevity, even at high charging speeds. Additionally, we investigate mechanisms of thermal propagation (TP) and develop safety concepts for designing battery systems that reliably prevent the occurrence of TP events (No-TP systems).
