New publication by the Chair of Technical Electrochemistry (TEC) comparing silicon and graphite anodes

TUM.Battery News, Batterieforschung Publikationen |

In order to meaningfully compare active battery materials with different properties, it is important to consider both the intrinsic electrochemical properties and the differences in the porous electrode structures at the same practically relevant area capacities. In this study, graphite and microsilicon anodes with a practical area capacity of 2.8 mAh cm-2 for lithium-ion batteries are compared with respect to their temperature-dependent kinetic charge transfer resistances (Rct) and their ion transport resistances.
