In the course of the PtX Lab Talk series, Valentin Batteiger (Bauhaus Luftfahrt) provided insights on PtL fuels for aviation

Alternative fuels for aviation are a cornerstone of the industry’s strategies to reach its climate targets and, consequently, attract tremendous attention. In this context, Power-to-Liquids (PtL) produced directly from renewable electricity represent a promising option to replace kerosene in the medium term. In the course of a series of webinars hosted by PtX Lab Lausitz, Valentin Batteiger provided an overview on the current status of PtL fuel and discussed resource demands and certification perspectives. Finally, a comparison with other fuel choices was drawn. The talk can be streamed online alongside another contribution on efficient synthetic fuels.
