Start-up Cryomotive, industrial partner in the project CryoTRUCK, has opened its hydrogen storage technology center in Pfeffenhausen. The first prototypes of cryogas pressure vessels for long haul heavy duty trucks are developed and manufactured there. Furthermore, the funding grant of the CryoTRUCK project has been announced officially.

The Grand Opening of the hydrogen storage technology center of Cryomotive has taken place on the 9th of December 2022 in Pfeffenhausen (county Landshut). Aluminum tanks which will be used on hydrogen powered long haul heavy duty trucks are winded with carbon fiber at the site. Together with the TUM partners, LCC and UTG, different tank manufacturing and winding schemes are developed, tested and optimized.  With regard to the whole tank system assembly and testing of the control technology and devices in the tank periphery will be carried out as well.

In addition to the Grand Opening, the funding grant of the project CryoTRUCK has been announced officially. The project is part of the National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Innovation Program (NIPII) of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital (BMVD). Besides the three TUM chairs APT, LCC, UTG with in total eight doctoral candidates, MAN Truck&Bus, Clean Logistics and IABG are working together in a consortium. The project is scheduled to run until mid-2025.
