Claudia Hemmerle at MSE Colloquium

On July 7th 2016 the 6th MSE Colloquium offered talented young researches from all departments an open platform to present their research during oral and poster presentations. This year’s keynotes were held by Dominic von Terzi, Manager Aerodynamics & Acoustics GE Global Research on “How to Leverage Corporate Research to Lower the Cost of Wind Energy” and Prof. Ferdi Schüth, Director at the MPI and Vice President of the Max-Planck-Society on “Beyond Oil and Gas – Mobility of the Future”. Prof. Dr. Thomas Hamacher, Director of the MSE, presented the progress of the MSE with regard to its recent research activities. Here, he especially emphasized the foundation of the Geothermal Alliance Bavaria (Geothermie-Allianz Bayern / GAB) and the foundation of the micro-grid laboratory group, Combined Smart Energy Systems (CoSES) at MSE.

Again, the Colloquium has proven to be the best platform at TUM to connect researchers from various departments, giving them the opportunity to network and exchange ideas across disciplines. Poster admission numbers reached a record this year, underlining the interest but also the competences in Energy Research at TUM and the MSE.

Best posters and oral presentations were awarded with the MSE TUM.ENERGY Award 2016.
